'response to the ukranian refugee crisis'
Ustron - Poland
The Ustron YWAM base is one of the newest in the world, and came about due in large part as a response to the refugee crisis as Ukrainians fled to Poland.
Their current staff team is quite small, however they continue to serve refugees in need in a number of ways including through the distribution of food and other supplies, they also run a King’s Kids youth ministry, and we partner with churches in the area for evangelism events.
There are a number of service opportunities we could explore, including kids ministry, working with local teens, or children with additional needs, doing creative or sports related evangelism, prayer walking and garbage collection, and practical work around the property.
The city of Ustron is home to only 16,000 people. It is a tourist destination due to its beauty and recreational activities, and many travel from around Poland and all over Europe to hike, bike, camp, swim, and enjoy the outdoors here in the summer months.
On your day off, there are several options for recreational activities for your team, (either free or for additional charge) including hiking, swimming in the river, fishing, ropes courses, and mountain biking.
